The Giro Source MIPS Helmet – For strong protection on difficult trails

The Source helmet with MIPS by Giro is suitable for mountain bikers who prefer demanding trails. The in-mould helmet shell, which is pulled far down, is completely covered with a hard-body outer shell. This further enhances protection in addition to that offered by the MIPS system. In addition to 17 air circulation vents, the Coolfit padding also helps you keep a cool head in tricky situations. The adjustable visor and goggle compatibility make the helmet a universal companion in any weather.

Technology:

MIPS
MIPS stands for ” Multi Directional Impact Protection System” and refers to a movable protection layer consisting of three components: an EPS liner and low-friction liner, which are then connected by an elastomeric fastening system. This layer protects the brain from oblique impact. The principle of the natural low-friction layer of the brain is adapted in order to minimise the forces that occur.

In-Mold Construction
The polycarbonate outer shell is glued to the EPS inner shell, which increases the resistance of the helmet. It also makes it easier to shape vents, which means that In-Mold designs typically have better ventilation systems and a lighter weight.

Roc Loc 5
The size adjustment mechanism is encased in a small housing. It can be adjusted in small increments with only two fingers. It also allows for height adjustment in three incremental levels.
