The Mio MIPS Kids helmet by Specialized – the child-friendly head protection

The Specialized Mio is a fashionable helmet with MIPS Technology for kids up to 3 years old. It has a child-friendly, easily adjustable fastening system with a large rotating wheel, a magnetic closure and comfortable, reflective straps. The firm helmet shell, manufactured using the in-mould process, offers reliable protection, which is further reinforced by the adaptable, shock-absorbing MIPS layer. Furthermore, the helmet was equipped with an integrated sun protection visor and insect nets in the front ventilation openings. Mio has a mounting bracket for the ANGi emergency sensor, but this is not supplied in this delivery.

Technology:

MIPS
MIPS is the acronym for ” Multi Directional Impact Protection System” and refers to a movable protective layer that is built into most Specialized helmets. This inlay is connected to the helmet via an elastomer and can glide in all directions by approx. 10 to 15 mm. This absorbs and reduces the rotational forces acting on the head during a fall. In the MIPS SL version of the S-Works Road and the Ambush helmets, Specialized also ensure that the MIPS layer does not have any disadvantages in terms of ventilation and weight.
